Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has crossed its daily production target of 16,200 tonnes per day and has accordingly revised its annual goal upward to 5.9 million tonnes for this fiscal. The last six month’s average is 16,290 tonnes a day. The company has given a target for production to all its assets across the country for the current financial year and expects that all assets will achieve it by the end of the fiscal.
Last fiscal, the production in Assam stood at 0.9 million tonnes. This year, the company expects to reach the figure of one million tonnes. The average production of Assam asset was 2,250 tonnes a day a year earlier. It has now already crossed 2,350 tonnes per day.
ONGC is India’s largest government-run corporation and produces about 70% of India’s crude oil and natural gas. The corporation is the biggest public sector commercial organization in India with current market capitalization of about $31 billion.
