GE Power India is currently trading at Rs. 479.70, up by 27.85 points or 6.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 451.85 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 471.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 484.55 and Rs. 471.00 respectively. So far 1,016 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 702.00 on 04-Jan-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 440.50 on 21-Nov-2016.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 484.55 and Rs. 449.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3,225.24 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.58%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.36% and 14.06% respectively.
GE Power India (GEPIL) has been awarded contracts worth $40 million by Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) to supply components and services for the supercritical steam generator island packages for 2x800 MW coal-based Uppur Thermal Power Project and 1x800MW coal-based North Chennai Supercritical Thermal Power Project Stage-III. Both the thermal power projects are located in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. This is in line with the government’s focus on upgrading the power infrastructure in the country.
Currently, the installed power generation capacity of Tamil Nadu stands at around 13 GW. The addition of 2400 MW of cumulative power generated from both Uppur and North Chennai supercritical power projects will help in providing easy access to electricity to the people of Tamil Nadu while lighting up approximately 7 million homes in the state.
As part of the scope, GEPIL will partner with BHEL to supply identified pressure parts of the boilers. It will also provide BHEL with technical advisors during the erection and commissioning of the units related to Boiler. Key components for both the projects will be manufactured in GE’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Durgapur, West Bengal.
