Ambuja Cements reported a rise of 5.35% in April 2012 cement production at 1.910 million tonnes from 1.813 million tonnes for April 2011. Meanwhile, the company’s dispatches were at 1.856 million tonnes compared with 1.826 million tonnes, registering an increase of 1.64%.
For January-April 2012 period, cement production and dispatches were 8.007 million tonnes and 7.950 million tonnes respectively, compared with 7.403 million tonnes and 7.378 million tonnes respectively in the corresponding period last year.
The company has posted a fall of 23.38% in its net profit at Rs 312.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 407.48 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 19.73% at Rs 2660.93 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2222.47 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
