Kirloskar Oil Engines inks license agreement with Daihatsu Diesel Company, Japan

Kirloskar Oil Engines (KOEL) has entered into a license agreement with Daihatsu Diesel Company, Japan for manufacturing and supply of diesel engines of Daihatsu design in India. Under this agreement, the engines manufactured by KOEL will be in the range of 440KW to 2560 KW and will cater to the requirement of propulsion and auxiliary power (DG Sets) for commercial ships.

Daihatsu Diesel Manufacturing Company, Japan is manufacturer and global supplier of diesel engines for marine and power plant application from more than four decades.

Recently, Kirloskar Oil Engines entered into/executed the Business Transfer agreement (“BTA') with KSPG Automotive India, Pune (as the Purchaser) for disposal of its Bearings Business Division ('BBD') on May 20, 2011. The company had sold this business division situated at Khadki, Pune, and MIDC, Ahmednagar as a going concern, for a lump sum consideration of Rs 870 crore, which would be payable on the completion date on cash free and debt free basis.

Kirloskar Oil Engines manufactures the widest range of diesel engines in India. Its other product range includes irrigation pump sets, diesel generating sets and engine bearings.
