Britannia Industries gains on inking non-binding MoU with Chipita

Britannia Industries is currently trading at Rs. 3250.85, up by 14.70 points or 0.45% from its previous closing of Rs. 3236.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 3235.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3261.50 and Rs. 3228.55 respectively. So far 2482 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3575.00 on 15-Sep-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2523.15 on 29-Mar-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3270.50 and Rs. 3173.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 38951.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.73%, while institutions and non-institutions held 28.40% and 20.88% respectively.

Britannia Industries has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chipita, a Greek Company for exploring certain business opportunities. The company is in advance stage of discussion with Chipita to finalize definitive agreements which includes Joint Venture Agreement. The company will inform once the partnership is established and agreements are signed.

Britannia Industries, one of the India’s biggest brands of the country, has a market share of over 33%. More-than-a-century old Britannia has launched big brands in FMCG Segment. The company is expanding its customer base by launching new products and renovating existing ones.
