Motherson Sumi Systems has reported results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2012.
The company’s net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 rose 44.02% to Rs 165.23 crore as compared to Rs crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. The total income has increased by 43.07% to Rs 1228.54 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 858.67 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
For the year ended March 31, 2012, the company’s net profit jumped 10.32% to Rs 317.17 crore as compared to Rs 287.49 crore for the previous year. The company’s total income has increased by 27.18% to Rs 3664.94 crore for the year from Rs 2881.70 crore in the previous year.
On consolidated basis, the Group’s net profit stood at Rs 259.64 crore for the year under review as compared to Rs 390.80 crore for the period ago, down by 33.56%. Its total income has increased by 77.97% to Rs 14921.09 crore for the year ended March 31, 2012 from Rs 8384.05 crore in the previous year.
The company, through its subsidiary Samvardhana Motherson Polymers (SMPL) and Samvardhana Motherson Global Holdings (SMGHL), completed the acquisition of 80% stake in Peguform GmbH and Peguform Iberica, SL including subsidiaries and joint ventures together with 50% stake in Wethje Entwicklungs, GmbH and Wethje Carbon Composite, GmbH (together referred to as SMP Group) on November 23, 2011 (the completion date).
The company and Samvardhana Motherson Finance (SMFL) hold directly and indirectly 51% and 49% respectively in SMPL and SMGHL under Joint Venture agreements. The consolidated results include financial results of these acquired entities from the completion date; hence the figures are not strictly comparable with previous periods.
