HCL Technologies (HCL), a leading global IT services provider, has been chosen by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) to be part of a national purchasing arrangement for the ICD-10 transition. With the help of this arrangement, HCL’s products and service capabilities will be available to the 39 independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies across the country.
The ICD transition is one of the many paradigms of the healthcare industry that is changing in the complicated processes of healthcare reform. The transition to ICD-10 (the 10th revision of coding put out by the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems) goes into effect in October, 2013. This unfunded mandate will put heavy financial and operational burdens on payer organizations and impact Payers ability to accurately process and pay claims.
HCL’s iCRM tool allows payer organizations to deal with the revision from ICD-9 to ICD-10. iCRM can be integrated with any Payer application or system. It addresses all types of integration and data handling with respect to real time, batch and user queries. In addition, HCL’s iDataPrepare and iCompare for ICD testing and PRIZM solution for project management have unique functionalities to aid the remediation processes as well.
HCL is a $5.9 billion leading global technology and IT enterprise comprising two companies listed in India -HCL Technologies and HCL Infosystems. Its range of offerings includes product engineering, custom & package applications, BPO, IT infrastructure services, IT hardware, systems integration, and distribution of information and communications technology (ICT) products across a wide range of focused industry verticals.
