Jet Airways to temporarily suspend Brussels-New York (JFK)-Brussels flights from Sept

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, will temporary suspend the airline’s Brussels-New York (JFK) - Brussels flight with effect from September 10, 2012. The airline company will however continue to operate its daily service on the Chennai-Brussels-Chennai route.

From September 10, 2012 onwards, the affected guests will be offered alternative flights on Jet Airway’s own services to New York (Newark) or that of partner airlines. Besides, with Mumbai-Brussels-Newark and Delhi-Brussels-Toronto routes, regular daily services will continue uninterrupted to two major gateways in North America, Newark and Toronto.

The company is taking this step in view of the current global economic conditions and its impact on business worldwide. The airline company is also currently focusing on profitability for which it is evaluating its ongoing network.

Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 101 aircraft, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 12 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 59 next generation Boeing 737-700/800/900 aircraft and 20 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. With an average fleet age of 5.81 years, the airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the world. Jet Airways and Jet Konnect have a combined fleet strength of 121 aircraft and operate over 620 flights daily.
