ONGC shines on inking MoU with China National Petroleum Corporation

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is currently trading at Rs. 271.75, up by 4.15 points or 1.55% from its previous closing of Rs. 267.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 268.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 272.00 and Rs. 268.20 respectively. So far 56396 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 303.90 on 22-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 240.10 on 23-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 273.55 and Rs. 259.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 232452.67 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.23% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.06% and 13.72% respectively. 

State run, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has entered into partnership with China’s China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore business opportunities together.

As per the deal, both the companies aim to expand their co-operation either directly or through their subsidiaries in upstream exploration and production areas, refining or processing of crude oil and natural gas in midstream or downstream projects, marketing and distribution of petroleum products and construction and operation of oil and gas pipelines.  ONGC’s overseas subsidiary - ONGC Videsh, is already working in joint venture with CNPC in Syria, Sudan and the Myanmar pipeline project.
