Britannia Industries inches up on the bourses

Britannia Industries is currently trading at Rs. 523.10, up by 1.80 points or 0.35% from its previous closing of Rs. 521.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 526.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 526.00 and Rs. 520.05 respectively.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 599.90 on 03-Apr-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 434.00 on 22-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 534.80 and Rs. 517.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6,248.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.96% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.89% and 19.16% respectively.

Britannia Industries, India’s largest biscuits and bakery company, has been conferred with the Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) by the Asia Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO). The awards will be given away at the 18th APQO/International Conference on Quality in Colombo on October 14.

The world-class quality performance award was based on the parameters modeled on the lines of the U S Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Award.

The company has won 'Best In Class' award and became the only Indian food and manufacturing company to receive this award. Besides, it was among 18 organisations from eight Asian and Pacific Rim countries that were recongnised for this award. This international recognition was for its manufacturing units and the overall processes of performance excellence adopted by the company.
