Symphony to double exports in next two years

Symphony, the air cooler manufacturer has decided to double its exports to two lakh units in the next two years, to fulfill the rising demand in global markets. At present it exports around 1.25 lakh units annually.

The company exports its product through dealers in 60 countries as well as with global retailers such as Wal-Mart, Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, Famsa and Costco. It’s ‘DiET’ range of air coolers has emerged as the largest selling brand outside India. In calendar year 2012, Wal-Mart stores in Mexico alone are aimed to sell 30,000, while another 60,000 units are targeted to be sold in other countries.

The entity has posted a fall of 27.10% in its net profit at Rs 14.96 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 20.52 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.  Total income has decreased by 20.07% at Rs 79.62 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 99.61 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
