ABB India has bagged orders worth Rs 16 crore to supply turnkey power and automation solution for three photovoltaic solar plants with a combined capacity of 11 megawatts in India.
The orders comprise of two 5 MW photovoltaic solar power plants and one 1MW photovoltaic solar power plant. When completed in October this year, the plant will have an annual generating capacity of up to 17.6 Gigawatt-hours of electricity, avoiding approximately 12500 MT of CO2 emissions a year, equivalent to the annual emissions of about 3100 Indian cars. The key products to be supplied include inverters, low-voltage equipment, medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, cables, distributed control systems, remote monitoring systems and auxiliary systems.
The company is responsible for the design, engineering, manufacturing, installation commissioning of the plants and will deliver the turnkey electrical and control solution within an extremely short time span of sixteen weeks.
