Shares of Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular managed to hold onto early gains after the Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) reported a split verdict on the 3G roaming case. The tribunal said both the parties could appeal at a higher court, according to one lawyer on the case, after one judge voted in favour of the government and the other in favour of the mobile phone operators. However, in a big relief to these operators, regulatory authority announced that the companies could continue with their roaming services till further directions from department of telecommunications or DoT.
Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs 319.25, up by 9.40 points or 3.03% from its previous closing of Rs 309.85 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 311.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 322.55 and Rs. 311.90 respectively. So far 617910 shares were traded on the counter. The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 444.70 on 01-Aug-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 280.10 on 23-May-2012.
Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs 81.20, up by 3.50 points or 4.50% from its previous closing of Rs 77.70 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 77.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 81.80 and Rs 77.00 respectively. So far 689927 shares were traded on the counter.
