Tata Steel strengthens on getting CCI’s nod for acquisition of Bhushan Steel

Tata Steel is currently trading at Rs. 584.00, up by 4.95 points or 0.85% from its previous closing of Rs. 579.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 580.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 587.50 and Rs. 580.95 respectively. So far 71075 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 755.12 on 15-Jan-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 408.02 on 05-May-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 610.40 and Rs. 578.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 70308.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.21%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.28% and 20.45% respectively.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given its approval to Tata Steel’s acquisition of debt-ridden firm Bhushan Steel. The regulator said it finds no Appreciable Adverse Effect on Competition (AAEC) in respect of proposed acquisition.

Last month, Tata Steel had won the bid to acquire Bhushan Steel under the insolvency process. Bhushan Steel had a total debt of Rs 57,160 crore, as on February 1. Under the insolvency process, the Committee of Creditors (CoCs) had declared Tata Steel as the successful resolution applicant for Bhushan Steel.
