Bharat Bijlee falls despite reporting 7-fold jump in Q4 net profit

Bharat Bijlee is currently trading at Rs. 1561.05, down by 61.95 points or 3.82% from its previous closing of Rs. 1623.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1650.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1650.05 and Rs. 1532.00 respectively. So far 3074 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1790.00 on 02-May-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 965.00 on 31-May-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1,700.00 and Rs. 1,532.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 883.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.63%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.83% and 47.54% respectively.

Bharat Bijlee has reported over 7-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 48.86 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2018 as compared to Rs 6.71 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company decreased by 11.03% at Rs 229.89 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 258.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2017.

For the year ended March 31, 2018, the company has posted over 4-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 60.97 crore as compared to Rs 14.42 crore for the previous year. Total income of company increased by 4.45% at Rs 810.98 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 776.43 crore for the year ended March 31, 2017.
