Grasim Industries has started the production at its staple fibre plant and chlor-alkali plant located at Nagda in Madhya Pradesh in gradual manner and the full production is expected to be restored by July 12, 2012. The company has been able to resume the production pursuant to the onset of monsoon due to which the availability of water has improved.
Earlier, the company had curtailed production at its staple fibre plant from July 01, 2012. Separately, the company’s chlor-alkali plant at Nagda had also curtailed production to about 50% of its rated capacity of 258,000 TPA. The company had taken this step due to delay in onset of monsoon and consequential water shortage.
