Radico Khaitan in talks to firm up international marketing tie up

India's oldest and largest liquor manufacturers -Radico Khaitan is in talks with 2-3 international liquor companies to establish marketing ties by the year end. It expects the emerging international brands portfolio to boost growth of its own premium brands in the institutional segment.

The company’s premium brands such as Magic Moments vodka, Morepheus brandy and After Dark whisky, which presently contribute 35% to value growth after the marketing tie up are expected to contribute to 50% to value growth in the coming 2-3 years.

In the quarter under consideration, Radico tied up with Japanese food and beverage group Suntory Liquors to market Yamazaki and Hibiki whiskies in India, thereby marking its entry into the super premium liquor segment. The company will soon roll out the brand across New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore by September.

The company posted 29.2% increase in net profit to Rs 20.74 crore in the first quarter against Rs 16.05 crore in the comparable period. Its net sales (including sale from tie-up units net of royalty income) in the April-June quarter increased 15.27% to Rs 375.9 crore compared to Rs 326.1 crore in the year-ago period.
