State run, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) Tripura unit is all set to supply gas to the ONGC-Tripura Power Corporation (OTPC) from July 9. The unit will release required 2.6 million standard cubic metre of gas per day (mmscmd) for the first phase of 726.6-MW gas-based power project at Palatana in Gomati district.
OTPC, a 726.6 MW gas-based power project at Palatana, would supply to the needs of power-deficit areas of north-eastern states of the country. Further, Northeast Power Trading Company has already started erecting transmission line from Palatana to Bongaigaon in Assam.
Recently, ONGC received a massive kitty of 121,207 carbon credits for its 51 megawatt (MW) wind power project located at Bhuj in Gujarat, on June 07, 2012. The company received the credits from the United Nations body on Climate Change (UNFCCC - United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change).
