Birla Corporation gains on planning to expand cement manufacturing capacity

Birla Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 691.90, up by 5.15 points or 0.75% from its previous closing of Rs. 686.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 699.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 708.35 and Rs. 690.80 respectively. So far 1611 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1290.00 on 08-Jan-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 663.00 on 06-Jun-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 720.00 and Rs. 671.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5364.96 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 62.90%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.15% and 19.95% respectively.

Birla Corporation is planning to expand its cement manufacturing capacity to 20 mtpa over the next two to three years. This will be achieved through brownfield expansion and creating of capacities in new locations.

Presently, the total manufacturing capacity after the acquisition of Reliance Cement is 12.5 mt.

Birla Corporation operates in four divisions namely cement, jute, vinoleum and auto trim division.
