Fortis Healthcare gains on the plans of acquiring 65% stake in Vietnam hospital chain

 Fortis Healthcare (India) is currently trading at Rs156.85, up by 1.90 points or 1.23% from its previous closing of Rs 154.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 157.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs 159.50 and Rs 155.75 respectively. So far 27428 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 176.95 on 11-Oct-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs 127.10 on 28-Jan-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 166.90 and Rs 150.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 6277.29 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 81.50% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.89% and 8.62% respectively.

Fortis Healthcare International - Singapore-based holding company of India’s Fortis Healthcare will buy a 65% stake in Vietnam's Hoan My Medical Corp for Rs 290 crore around $64 million. Hoan My is one of Vietnam's largest private healthcare groups with 700 beds across five hospitals. By November 2011, it will open a new 200-bed tertiary care hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

Fortis Healthcare International is held directly by brothers Malvinder Mohan Singh and Shivinder Mohan Singh, who are also the main shareholders and promoters of India-listed Fortis Healthcare.

Fortis Healthcare International has been on an acquisition spree since it was set up about a year ago, and now owns clinics and hospitals in several Asian countries including Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
