Ashok Leyland bags order worth $23 million from BRTC

 Ashok Leyland, a Hinduja Group company has bagged order worth $23 million for 290 fully built Double Decker Busses from Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), this represent the company’s largest single order for Double Decker Busses from the country.

In 2010-11, saw the company’s export numbers zoomed by 72% to touch 10,306 numbers in which Bangladesh had a significant contribution.

Ashok Leyland’s net profit for the fourth quarter rose by 33.94% at Rs 298.23 crore as compared to Rs 222.66 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010. Its total income has increased by 30.30% at Rs 3832.65 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 2941.35 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
