Hero MotoCorp, India's largest two-wheeler maker has signed an agreement with a European design and technology partner, which will be its third partner since the split from Japan's Honda Motor. The name of the new partner will be announced soon. Last year, the company had ended the 26-year joint venture with Honda Motor, a move that allowed it to explore new products and export opportunities in markets where the Japanese company has a presence.
Earlier in February this year, the company had announced a partnership agreement with US superbike company Erik Buell Racing, and in March signed a research deal with Austrian engine manufacturer AVL.
Recently, it had entered into the international market under its newly incorporated brand identity by launching as many as 14 models in Sri Lanka. It has appointed ABANS Group as its sole distributor in the island nation to sell the products through a channel of 50 outlets.
