State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has introduced an internal exercise for administrative restructuring and decentralization of powers by opening General Manager -led network office in Thiruvananthapuram. This aims to decentralized operations in the city and the new office will coexist with the business and operational headquarters of the 67-year-old bank situated elsewhere in the city at Poojappura.
On standalone basis, the bank has posted a rise of 30.31% in its net profit at Rs 181.44 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 139.24 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 30.32% to Rs 2241.98 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1720.40 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
