Central Bank of India bestowed with ‘Certificate of Excellence’

Central Bank of India has been awarded ‘Certificate of Excellence’ for the proactive role in establishing Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) across the country during the year 2011-12. The award has been handed over to the bank by Union Minister, Rural Development at the function held at New Delhi.

The bank has established 46 RSETIs across the country. The basic objective of establishing RSETIs is to promote self employment as also up gradation of skills of Rural Youth for gainful employment.

Central Bank of India was the first Indian commercial bank, which was wholly owned and managed by Indians. Central Bank of India holds a very prominent place among the Public Sector Banks on account of its network of 3,656 branches and 178 extension counters at various centers throughout the length and breadth of the country.
