SBI shines on inking partnership pact with Star Agriwarehousing & Collateral Management

SBI is currently trading at Rs. 1870.00, up by 11.15 points or 0.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 1858.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1856.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1871.00 and Rs. 1856.40 respectively. So far 57,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2474.80 on 21-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1576.00 on 20-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1904.00 and Rs. 1845.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1, 25,485 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.58% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.83% and 10.12% respectively.

State Bank of India (SBI) has entered into strategic partnership with Star Agriwarehousing & Collateral Management (StarAgri), India’s leading agri-services & solutions provider for Warehousing Receipt Financing and Collateral Management Services.

The partnership aims to deliver post-harvest credit facility to farmers all across India. Both the organizations will help farmers by empowering them through affordable finance, scientific storage facilities and fair price discovery of their produce.

Under this agreement, SBI will provide post-harvest credit facilities while StarAgri will offer warehousing and other value-added services to farmers. The produce stored in StarAgri’s state-of-the-art warehouses will act as collateral for the finance extended by SBI.
