Allahabad Bank edges higher on receiving govt’s approval for amalgamation

Allahabad Bank is currently trading at Rs. 25.85, up by 0.05 points or 0.19% from its previous closing of Rs. 25.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 26.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 26.30 and Rs. 25.30 respectively. So far 85789 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 58.80 on 11-Mar-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 23.65 on 17-Oct-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 27.10 and Rs. 25.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9546.21 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 92.01%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 4.57% and 3.41% respectively.

Allahabad Bank has now received a communication from the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services communicating that the Alternate Mechanism (AM) has accorded in-principle approval to proposed amalgamation of Allahabad Bank into Indian Bank with Indian Bank as the transferee Bank and Allahabad Bank as transferor Bank.

Allahabad Bank is a nationalised bank with its headquarters in Kolkata. It is the oldest joint stock bank in India.
