Reliance Power achieves Boiler light up for second unit of 600MW Butibori Thermal Power Project

Reliance Power has achieved the Boiler light up for the second of two units of its 600MW Butibori Thermal Power Project located near Nagpur in Maharashtra. The power generated from the plant will help reduce demand supply gap in Maharashtra.

The Boiler light up for the second unit of the plant has been done in 22 months from start of boiler erection. With the commissioning of this unit by end of the year, full capacity of 600MW will be available from this plant.

The investment of over Rs 3,600 crore in the Butibori plant represents one of the biggest investments in Maharashtra. The plant is among the compact sized thermal plants in the country with its 600MW capacity requiring no more than 275 acres of plant land.

Reliance Power is a part of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and is established to develop, construct and operate power projects domestically and internationally.
