Wipro, Aster DM Healthcare and Orient Electric to see some action today

Wipro has completed the acquisition of 83.4% equity stake in Encore Theme Technologies. The remaining 16.6% equity stake will be acquired subject to and after receipt of certain regulatory approvals/confirmations. The acquisition will help strengthen Wipro’s position as a dominant player across the globe implementing Finastra solutions.

Aster DM Healthcare’s subsidiary-- Aster DM Healthcare FZC, has acquired a company in the Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands - Aster Caribbean Holdings. Aster Caribbean Holdings shall venture into various healthcare initiatives in the Cayman Islands. The company has presently acquired one share at face value of $1 and it shall make necessary investment in this subsidiary in future.

Orient Electric has expanded its fans range with new variants in line with the robust demand coming in from Tier-3 & 4 markets and rural parts of the country. The company has introduced two new fans namely Summer Breeze Pro and Rapid Air and has further plans to refresh an existing fan named Twister as well as augment the range in base, economy and decorative segments in the coming months. The launch is part of the company's plans to cash in on the positive rural sentiments to increase its fans market share in the next 12 months.

Hero MotoCorp is going to increase prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 1,500 from January 1, 2021, to offset impact of rising input costs. There has been a steady rise in commodity costs across the spectrum, including steel, aluminium, plastics, and precious metals. The company has already accelerated its savings programme under the Leap-2 umbrella, and will continue to work on mitigating the impact, with the objective to reduce the burden on the customers and protect its margins.

Energy Efficiency Services (EESL), a joint venture of four PSUs including NTPC, Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation & Power Grid Corporation and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has commissioned about 8 megawatt solar-agro project at Devdaithan, Maharashtra. The 7987 KW project in Ahmednagar district is part of Energy Efficiency Services commitment to the state under the Mukhya Mantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana, wherein it will supply the state discom with 679 MW of solar power.

Reliance Industries’ (RIL) telecom arm -- Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) has topped the 4G speed chart with data download rate of 20.8 megabit per second (Mbps), while Vodafone was ahead of others in upload speed at 6.5 Mbps in November. Jio recorded more than double the download speed of its closest competitor Vodafone.
