Shankara Building Products falls on deciding to close retail stores in four locations

Shankara Building Products is currently trading at Rs. 343.10, down by 7.35 points or 2.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 350.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 349.85 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 350.20 and Rs. 339.75 respectively. So far 3609 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 583.00 on 14-Feb-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 214.60 on 03-Apr-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 362.90 and Rs. 339.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 785.33 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 56.45%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.98% and 15.57% respectively.

Shankara Building Products has decided to close retail stores in four locations i.e. Rourkela (Odisha), Jalahalli (Bengaluru), Harohalli (Bengaluru) and Cherlapally (Hyderabad), as company has identify some retail stores where it does not find substantial scale up opportunities in the medium term. The net store count after these measures will stand at 97 stores.
