HCC trades higher on narrowing Q2 net loss to Rs 17.87 crore

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) is currently trading at Rs. 17.70, up by 0.50 points or 2.91% from its previous closing of Rs. 17.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 17.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 18.35 and Rs. 17.00 respectively. So far 1624748 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 33.00 on 17-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 14.95 on 30-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 18.35 and Rs. 16.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1094.93 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 39.86% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.98% and 36.14% respectively.

HCC has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2012.

The company’s net loss for the quarter shrink to Rs 17.87 crore as compared to the net loss of Rs 40.54 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous year. However, the company’s total income has increased marginally by 3.17% at Rs 864.26 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 837.69 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.

HCC is a leader in engineering and construction space. The company has established a vast presence and gained recognition in the sectors of Hydro Power, Water Solutions, Transportation and Nuclear Power.
