Tech Mahindra plans acquisition in both BPO as well as technology space. The company is planning to buy a BPO for supporting overseas customers while in the IT services space, it will look at specialized niche technology companies for acquisition.
The company is also scouting for partner companies for making a foray into emerging Russia as a go to market strategy and for most of its overseas operations it will focus on hiring local talent. Tech Mahindra’s IT services has about 28,000 employees and another 10,000 for its BPO operations.
Tech Mahindra’s profit after tax declined by 21% to Rs 182.48 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 231.86 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010. Its total income decreased from Rs 1241.80 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010 to Rs 1229.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
