Punjab National Bank to unveil ‘PNB Remit Card’ in Kochi

Punjab National Bank (PNB), country’s public sector lender, is in process of launching the country’s first co-branded remittance card ‘PNB Remit Card’ in Kochi. The public sector lender will be unveiling this card in association with UAE Exchange and Financial Services on November 02, 2012. In order to transfer funds from abroad and for using in merchandise establishments this prepaid card will come handy and will benefit NRIs and their kin.

In a single year the card holder can make 30 transactions through this card and this card will be valid for 36 months. Also, a maximum of Rs 25,000 can be withdrawn in a day. Besides, there is a provision whereby the beneficiaries’ savings bank account can be credited from the card account through a fund transfer option.

The UAE Exchange office in India will automatically load the funds and send an SMS alert to the beneficiary the moment an NRI remits money from abroad. A minimum of Rs 500 and a maximum of Rs 50,000 can be loaded. On receipt of the SMS alert, the beneficiary can use the PNB remit card for cash withdrawal from any ATM for merchandise purchase. The card can be used on a pan-India basis as it is a non-personalized co-branded card.
