Hero MotoCorp reports 3.31% rise in October 2012 sales

Country’s largest two-wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp (HMCL) has reported a 3.31 percent rise in sales at 529,215 units of two-wheelers in October 2012. In the corresponding month the previous year, the company had sold 512,238 units.

In terms of retail sales during the festive season - a real barometer of customer response - HMCL sold over 3.50 lakh units of two-wheelers in just the first 15 days of the festive period - starting from the first day of Navratra i.e. October 16, 2012 onwards.

Besides, the company is already the second-largest player in the scooters segment since September this year, Hero MotoCorp also recorded its highest-ever scooter sales for any month by crossing the threshold 50,000 units in October.

Further, the new 110cc scooter - Hero Maestro - has been a block-buster and together with the 100cc scooter Pleasure, the company has now started clocking an average of close to 50,000 units per month. Also, encouraged by the success of its scooters, HMCL has already scaled up its scooter production to over 60,000 units a month to meet the overwhelming customer demand.
