Videocon Industries’ net profit for FY11 surges 86%

Videocon Industries has announced the results for the year ended December 31, 2011.

The company has posted an increase of 86% in its net profit of Rs 744.69 crore for the year ended December 31, 2010 as compared to Rs 400.66 crore for the year ended December 31, 2009. Total income has increased from 9415.28 crore for the year ended December 31, 2009 to Rs 14718.92 crore for the year ended December 31, 2010.

On consolidated basis, the group has posted a net loss of Rs 297.02 crore for the year under review as compared to net profit of Rs 415.97 crore for the year ended December 31, 2009. Total Income has increased from 10776.65 crore for the year ended December 31, 2009 to Rs 15185.60 crore for the year ended December 31, 2010.

The figures for the current period are for a period of 15 months as against 12 months in previous period. The board of directors of the company at its meeting held on May 26, 2011 has recommended dividend of Re. 1 per share for the accounting year ended on December 31, 2010, for the consideration and declaration by the members at the ensuing Annual General Meeting (AGM).
