Amara Raja Batteries spurts on plans of setting up manufacturing plant for two wheeler batteries

Amara Raja Batteries  is currently trading at Rs 243.15, up by 19.60 points or 8.77% from its previous closing of Rs 223.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 230.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 246.30 and Rs 230.00 respectively. So far 262915 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 249.00 on 19-Oct-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 89.50 on 30-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 232.00 and Rs 218.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 4148.18 crore

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.06 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.94 % and 23.00 % respectively.

Amara Raja Batteries has received an approval for the expansion/ setting up of a plant for manufacture of two wheeler batteries at total capacity outlay of Rs 99.80 crore. The board at its meeting held on November 05, 2012 has approved for the same.

Amara Raja Batteries (ARBL) is engaged in manufacturing of industrial and automotive batteries. It was founded in 1985. ARBL was first to introduce Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries with three-year warranty in industrial and automotive applications.
