Country’s largest automotive company, Tata Motors’ global sales including Jaguar Land Rover, grew by 6% to 100,660 units in October 2012 compared to the corresponding period of last year. The cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were 679,051, higher by 7%, compared to the corresponding period in 2011-12.
The total global wholesales of all commercial vehicles - Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range saw a jump of 19% and stood at 51,396 units in October 2012 compared to October 2011. The cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were at 334,941 units higher by 4%, over October 2011.
Also, global wholesales of all passenger vehicles were at 49,264 units in October 2012 a drop of 5%. The cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were 344,110 units higher by 10%. The global wholesales of Tata passenger vehicles were lower by 17% and stood at 21,367 units for the month over October 2011. The cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were flat at 155,319 units.
The company’s Land Rover global wholesales in October 2012 stood at 27,897 vehicles a jump of 7% over corresponding period of last year. Jaguar wholesales for the month were 3,339 and cumulative wholesales were 24,945 vehicles, while Land Rover wholesales for the month were 24,558 and cumulative wholesales were 163,846 vehicles. The cumulative wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal were 188,791 vehicles, higher by 21%.
