Coromandel International confers ‘Borlaug Award’ for 2012 on two IARI scientists

Coromandel International has conferred the ‘Borlaug Award’ for 2012 on two Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) scientists. The award has been granted to K.V. Prabhu and Ashok Kumar Singh for their contribution to basmati rice research and development.

Further, a five-member jury headed by M.S. Swaminathan, Father of the Green Revolution in India, has named these scientists for the award. Moreover, the award carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a gold medal and a citation.

Coromandel International, a part of the $3.8 billion-Murugappa Group, is engaged in manufacturing of fertilizers, specialty nutrients, and crop protection.
