DB Corp gains on plans to acquire remaining shares of IMCL and SMEL

DB Corp is currently trading at Rs. 220.10, up by 1.10 points or 0.50% from its previous closing of Rs. 219.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 221.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 222.00 and Rs. 218.30 respectively. So far 2764 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 235.00 on 03-Aug-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 170.00 on 05-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 225.00 and Rs. 216.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4002.56 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 81.51% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.56% and 2.93% respectively.

D B Corp will be acquiring remaining shares of its two subsidiaries, I Media Corporation (IMCL) and Synergy Media Entertainment (SMEL) from other existing shareholders so as to make them wholly-owned subsidiaries of the company. Based on the valuation exercise performed by the company it will be paying Rs 35.60 crore for acquiring 45% stake in IMCL and Rs 2.37 crore for acquiring 43.10% stake in SMEL.

DB Corp is the only media conglomerate that enjoys a leadership position in multiple states, in multiple languages and is a dominant player in its all major markets. The company’s other business interests also span the radio segment through the brand - MY FM - radio station with presence in 7 states and 17 cities and a strong online presence in internet portals.
