Tata Motors’ global wholesales in November declines by 5%

Tata Motors part of Tata Group’s global wholesales, including the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) brand, fell by 5 percent to 102,337 units in November 2012 due to slow-moving demand for passenger cars and medium and heavy trucks, especially in India. On the other hand, cumulative sales for the fiscal stood at 782,043 units, a rise of 4 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2011-12.

The sales of all commercial vehicles - Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range - stood at 49,248 units. Cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were at 384,199 units. Further, passenger vehicle sales were down 9 percent to 53,089 units and cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were at 397,844 units.

The company sold 18,440 units Tata passenger vehicles November. Meanwhile, global wholesales for its British Jaguar Land Rover unit were at 34,649 units last month, up from 29,183 units a year ago. It sold 6,260 Jaguars and 28,389 Land Rovers last month.
