Aditya Birla Nuvo spurts on getting CCI’s nod to acquire Pantaloon brand

Aditya Birla Nuvo is currently trading at Rs 1095.40, up by 17.05 points or 1.58% from its previous closing of Rs 1078.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 1082.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1096.45 and Rs 1082.00 respectively. So far 3039 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 1143.15 on 07-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 710.10 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 1120.00 and Rs 1065.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 12242.50 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.04% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.51% and 15.63% respectively.

Aditya Birla Nuvo has received Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) approval to takeover Future group’s Pantaloon brand. Aditya Birla Nuvo, through its subsidiary, has proposed to acquire a majority of Pantaloon format business from Kishore Biyani-led Future group.

As a part of the deal between the two companies, the Pantaloon format would be demerged from Pantaloon Retail India (PRIL).

Earlier in August, CCI had termed as invalid an application seeking nod for this takeover deal as the final deal was yet to be approved by the boards of the concerned companies at that time.

Aditya Birla Nuvo operates in areas like financial services, telecom, fashion and lifestyle, IT and ITES, agri products, yarn and textile manufacturing.
