State Bank of Travancore shines on reporting 30% rise in Q3 net profit

State Bank of Travancore is currently trading at Rs. 595.95, up by 9.55 points or 1.63% from its previous closing of Rs. 586.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 599.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 614.00 and Rs. 588.10 respectively. So far 17,418 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 671.35 on 17-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 470.10 on 23-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 607.40 and Rs. 564.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,978 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.35% and 18.65% respectively.

The bank has reported 30.41% rise in its net profit at Rs 131.99 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 101.21 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 20.45% at Rs 2297.15 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1907.06 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The bank’s gross NPA for the December 31, 2012 quarter of the current fiscal stood at 3.04%, higher as compared to 2.82% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA remained higher at 1.83% in the quarter under review as against 1.64% in Q3FY12.
