Hong Kong-based private equity fund invests $10 million in Prime Focus’ arm

Hong Kong-based private equity fund AID Partners Capital has invested $10 million in Media company Prime Focus’ subsidiary Prime Focus World (PFW). The investment has been made through optionally convertible preference shares of PFW, which are convertible into 4% equity.

In a related development, Prime Focus has received its board’s nod for investing $3,000,000 in a joint venture (JV) with AID Capital Partners to provide all of Prime Focus’s services including 2D to 3D conversion, Visual Effects (VFX), Clear cloud based platform services and post production services in the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan regions.

PFW is one of the largest providers of value-added creative and technical services for 2D and 3D content conversion, visual effects (VFX) and animation services. Meanwhile, Prime Focus is a global visual entertainment services group that provides creative and technical services to the film, broadcast, and advertising market.
