HTC has tied up with Reliance Communications (RCOM) to launch HTC One smartphone in India for a price of Rs 42,900. Along with HTC One smartphone, which will be available in April end, Reliance Communications will be offering its GSM subscriber 1GB of 3G data free for 3 months along with free sharing of unlimited text, music, pictures and videos through WhatsApp and Facebook for 3 months.
Additionally, the company will also be offering free BigFlix subscription for 3 months that will enable its 3G users to catchup with the latest movies without spending on additional data charges.
Earlier, it was reported that the company is planning to sell 80% stake in its subsidiary Reliance Globalcom to a consortium led by Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) for around Rs 6,000 crore. The company will use the proceeds to pay off its debt which is estimated to be around Rs 37,000 crore as of now.
