Diana Tea soars on getting nod for sale of Ambari Tea Estate

Diana Tea Company is currently trading at Rs 17.90, up by 0.70 points or 4.07% from its previous closing of Rs 17.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 18.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 18.20 and Rs 17.55 respectively. So far 15220 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 28.20 on 11-Nov-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs 15.50 on 22-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 18.50 and Rs 15.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 25.78 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.34% while Non-Institutions held 38.66% stake in the company. 

Diana Tea Company has received an approval to go ahead with the negotiation, finalizing terms and conditions and conclude the deal relating to sale of its Ambari Tea Estate situated at Jalpaiguri in West Bengal to Maxwell Golden Tea, Coimbatore. The board at its meeting held on September 29, 2011 has approved for the same.

Further, the prospective sale of Ambari Tea Estate, will be subject to necessary approval of the shares-holders under section 293(1) (a) and other necessary statutory approvals.

Diana Tea Company is engaged in the business of cultivation and manufacturing of tea. Its gardens are located in Dooars region of West Bengal. Its products include packet tea, bulk tea, dipping tea bags and wooden keddies. Its packet tea is available in package of 250 grams.
