Tanla Solutions has received an approval to merge its wholly owned subsidiaries (WOS) in Singapore and UK into its Indian WOS - Tanla Mobile (TMPL), subject to approvals from authorities wherever required. This will allow the company to consolidate and redeploy existing resources and technology products towards the new initiatives. The company has taken this step in view of Business Realignment whereby the Carrier payments and platforms business will be India centric only while its patented rights management services will continue to be a global activity.
The company has also received approval to unlock the value of its entire existing land holding aggregating to 9.08 acres held since the year 1995. The board has resolved to authorize the company’s wholly owned subsidiary to enter into an agreement with a suitable partner specializing in property development and to identify related new investment opportunities, subject to the approval of relevant authorities.
The board at its meeting held on April 10, 2013 has approved for the above. The board discussed the current status of the industry and the future of the company’s existing business in the changing mobile business landscape as well as reviewed the company’s products in development along with new opportunities. The board approved for the new product launches.
The company has had the following 2 initiatives in R&D and the board has approved the launch of these products and the partnerships required to take them to market. The Mobile social gaming platform ‘GameOn’ to be launched in the current quarter in partnership with leading game publishers, mobile carriers and handset manufacturers and Social music platform for mobile, Web and Facebook to be launched in the current fiscal year.
