Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with the promoters of Aquagel Chemicals (ACPL) for acquisition of 74% of the equity share capital of ACPL. The company was earlier holding an investment to the extent of 26% of the equity share capital of ACPL.
Pursuant to the said acquisition of remaining 74% of the equity share capital, ACPL has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Hindustan Unilever with effect from April 01, 2013.
The company has registered a rise of 15.59% in net profit at Rs 871.36 crore in Q3FY13 as compared to Rs 753.81 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year. The total income from operation of the company has increased by 11.74% to Rs 6654.83 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 5955.53 crore in the same quarter last year.
