Bajaj Auto reports 20% jump in May sales

Bajaj Auto has reported a growth of 20% in its May sales which is the highest ever sales witnessed in the month of May for the company. The company has sold total of 358,849 units in May 2011 as compared to 299,442 units in May 2010. The cumulative sales of the company for the period April to May 2011 thus stood at 726,158 units compared to 612,914 for the period April to May 2010 up by 18%.

Motorcycles sales have increased by 18% during the May 2011 month under review to 317,989 units from 269,488 units for the year ago period. While, year till date sales of motorcycles for April-May 2011 period stood at 640,224 compared to 545,583 for the period April-May 2010, showing growth of 17%.

Commercial Vehicles sales have increased by 36% during the May 2011 month under review to 40,860 units from 29,954 units for the year ago period. While, year till date sales of Commercial Vehicles for April-May 2011 period stood at 85,934 compared to 67,304 for the period April-May 2010, showing growth of 28%.

Out of the total sales, export has increased by 32% during the May 2011 month under review to 126,818 units from 95,964 units for the year ago period. While, year till date exports for April-May 2011 period stood at 285,240 compared to 209,875 for the period April-May 2010, showing growth of 36%.
