Grasim Industries rises on concluding Brownfield expansion of 36,500 TPA of VSF Capacity

Grasim Industries is currently trading at Rs. 2961.10, up by 3.70 points or 0.13% from its previous closing of Rs. 2957.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2948.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2977.50 and Rs. 2944.00 respectively.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3511.00 on 17-Oct-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2216.00 on 04-Jun-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2987.55 and Rs. 2908.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 27265.92 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 25.53% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.70% and 21.61% respectively.

Grasim Industries has completed the Brownfield expansion of 36,500 TPA of Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) Capacity located at Harihar in state of Karnataka. This is pursuant to the commissioning of 20 MW Power Plant located at the said plant. The Phase I of 18,250 TPA capacity of VSF had become operational in September, 2012.

Starting as a textiles manufacturer in 1948, today Grasim’s businesses comprise viscose staple fibre (VSF), cement, chemicals and textiles. Its core businesses are VSF and cement, which contribute to over 90 per cent of its revenues and operating profits.
