Bharat Electronics (BEL) has signed contract with Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance, Govt of India on January 30, 2024 for implementation & management of IT infrastructure. The value of the contract, won through open bidding, is Rs 665.84 crore plus taxes. The scope of the project is to supply, install and maintain IT & networking infra, field IT support and centralised management and monitoring. Maintenance support will be provided for 5 years inclusive of implementation period. This is one of the biggest Civilian Projects acquired on competitive basis by BEL during the current financial year. 

BEL has also received additional orders worth Rs 182 crore towards miscellaneous spares & services. With the above BEL has received cumulative orders of Rs 28494 crore in the current financial year 2023-24. 

BEL is a multi-product, multi-technology, multi-unit conglomerate with various products in the areas of military communication, radars, naval systems, C4I systems, weapon systems, homeland security, telecom & broadcast systems, electronic warfare, tank electronics, electro-optics, professional electronic components and solar photovoltaic systems.
