Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has reported a 10.07% year-on-year increase in total wholesales at 187,196 units in March 2024. The company had dispatched a total of 170,071 units in the same month last year.
The total domestic passenger vehicle sales grew 15.26% at 161,304 units in March 2024 as against 139,952 units in the month a year ago. Sales of mini segment cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, increased to 11,829 units in March 2024 as against 11,582 units in March 2023.
Sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, also declined by 2.77% to 69,844 units in March 2024 as compared to 71,832 units in the year-ago month. Utility vehicles, including Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross and XL6, recorded sales of 58,436 units last month, growing 57.70% over 37,054 units in the month a year ago. Its exports last month stood at 25,892 units as compared to 30,119 units in the same month last year.
